Moving, moving, moved!
I think we are about 97% finished with this move. Of course I am not unpacking because we will be moving again in a month. After that move I will settle in since we will be in that home for the remainder of the year.
One of the hardest things about moving was the fact that I have not heard from Mike in a long time. I have not been in touch with the Army (yet… Monday I will call Ft. Lewis), so no one knows where I am or how to reach me. I feel very uneasy about that. I will forward my old home phone to my cell though… they do have that number and it is on until Wednesday when the house closes.
With all of that said… I was really missing Mike today when we were moving. I put in one of my favorite older CDs, and this song came on. I sang it as loud as I could (while bawling of course). So, I will post the lyrics here, but slightly modified for Mike:
And you grew so fast
Being your mom
And all the love I have
I can only take you so far
As far as I can
But you’ll need something more to guide your heart
As you grow into a man
Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There’ll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Those who believe
Although their foolish hearts may break
They will find peace
And I’ll meet you in that place
Where mercy leads
Michael the day
Michael the day will come
We’ll run the race
That takes us way beyond
All our trials and all our failures
And all the good we dream of
But we can’t see yet where it is we’re heading
But one day we’ll see the face of love
Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There’ll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Those who believe
Although their foolish hearts may break
They will find peace
Where mercy leads
Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There’ll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Those who believe
Although their foolish hearts may break
They will find peace
And I’ll meet you in that place
Let mercy lead
Let mercy lead
Let mercy lead
