Happy December!
Can you believe the big D is here already? Why, it seems that just 12 months ago I was feeling this exact same way! It always sneaks up on me. Always. I am December’s forever unsuspecting victim. I very much love the Holidays though, but I have many things to be concerned with right now outside of gifts. Christmas will be small but meaningful. I try to keep it that way. I think that the less pomp and craziness you put into it in the forefront, the less let down you have later. Keep it simple. Enjoy what really counts, and let go of your Courier and Ives moments. They are elusive, but that hug from your husband or one of your kids is not.
Monday I am heading over to NC to be with my mother while they operate on her. I will blog from the hospital and let you all know how she is doing. She will go to ICU right after surgery and after they monitor her for a few hours they will determine if she will stay or move to step down. Let’s pray that I can write in and tell you all that she is in step down by Monday evening.
Yesterday we took our school supplies to Nate’s school and boxed them up. The running total we have for boxes right now is 71! That includes 3 boxes we already sent. I will call the Post Office on Monday from NC and set up a time for them to come and pick our boxes up. I will post pictures as soon as I get some from the program. I know that some of you asked if you could donate towards postage. We have 22 boxes covered so far, and my church will cover many too. If you would like to donate I got approval to use the Church as a collector for donations for postage. Please write to me and I will send you the address and instructions (kneedeepinthehooah AT gmail DOT com).
I hope you all have a simply wonderful Saturday! Mr. Hooah! and myself will be going out on a date sometime today. We celebrated his belated birthday last night, and we celebrate mine tonight (mine was on the 25th so it’s belated too). Funny, but the older you get the less you mind putting off your birthday. :)
