A Tribute to our Troops
I found a tribute (linked below) on RN this morning. It is probably one of the most beautifully done tributes I have ever watched. It’s done in a style that conveys the sacrifices that our troops have willingly given to our Country. Please take a moment to view it. There is very soft music in the background and there are no graphic images (it is work and child friendly).
I have heard countless times that “The only thing harder than being an American soldier is loving one.” That is a very generous statement, but as hard as this deployment has been on me, I know that I have not faced nor dealt with the death, destruction and stresses of the battlefield that my son has faced. I really wish I could say that I have had it tougher, but I really can not. When it comes to the sacrifices that have been given, my son and those who have been, are currently, or will be deployed into a war zone have sacrificed beyond what we can imagine.
Thank you should always be uttered, but it should always feel as if it falls short somehow. That’s gratitude.
