Tootsie Pop
Remember the old Tootsie Pop commercial where the little boy asks the owl “Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?”
The owl grabs the sucker out of the kids hand, licks it three times and crunches it to the bottom, and then he concludes “Three!”
The announcer closes by saying “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? The world may never know.”
Today my question is, “When will we get Bryan’s final check from the Army?”
So far we are working on nearly 3 months. The money is there. It’s out of audit, and has been for a long time. It’s not been deposited and no one knows why.
“How many months do you have to be chaptered out of the Army before you get your final paycheck?”
The world may never know.
Maybe you should start a pool and all your readers can place bets as to the day the check arrives! I’ll guess March 21st, Good Friday.
No doubt you will be paid interest on the delayed funds………
Yes, I am sure they are calculating that interest at a competitive rate! ha ha! Oh, a pool may be fun! The prize would have to be cheap — like an Army on a congressionally stunted budget. ;)
Same thing happened to my son’s promotion–all his points went into etherland and his command wasn’t too interested in where they went. Now they finally are, and looks like he will get 18 months backpay and date of rank! The answer is in the regs, or the MOPS or whatever they call them in the army, but they gotta obey them. Find the applicable regulation, and make them do it. No one can disobey the regs. Good luck!

Believe it or not, I think we have it figured out. Get this… they lost Bryan’s discharge file! :D I am just glad that they haven’t come here to throw him in the brig for desertion! Ack! He’s official though. We have copies of everything.
One lesson learned by this woman — DOCUMENT and COPY everything!! Everything!
