Do not go gentle into that good night
I was very sad to read just a few minutes ago that Charleton Heston has passed away at the age of 84. What a tremendous loss for us all. I was telling Mr. Hooah! that I am saddened when I see men like Heston or Reagan pass away because I don’t see anyone big enough to fill their shoes.
Where have all the cowboys gone?
Please keep his family in your prayers.

Well, do we know if Mr. Heston was numbered among the Covenant Children of God? If so, we can rejoice that his sojourn in this world has ended and he is enjoying the richness and fullness of God’s inifite glory in heaven.
Totally off this topic, I was musing (I do that a lot…guess it is better than “a”musing, which is the absence of same) yesterday afternoon that I might just be able to identify (in a fairly insignificant but interesting way) with M____ as he serves our country in a war zone. (Are first names permissible? What’s the protocol, here?) Anyway, as I am facing some monumental challenges in my own life, I have discovered that each day brings me into my own little war zone. I think I have the territory scoped out, that I know the enemy’s location and tactics, only to find that during the night he has taken a new position and brought in some different weaponry.(Forgive me for my horrid analogies…my knowledge of the military is limited to WWII movies and M*A*S*H reruns.) Anyway, as I was considering this, I felt just a little more empathy for and connection with M____. Now, when I pray for him, my requests will be more specific.
It just occurred to me that I should have seen this connection long ago, as the Apostle Paul admonishes us to be prepared for battle in Ephesians 6:10-18 “…Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (v13).
Oh, okay…now I get it!

So sad. You are so right, they just don’t make ‘em like these guys anymore.
Heston, Fonda, Newman, Stewart, Cary Grant, Pacino, Brando, each a tremendous presence on the screen. Ronald Reagen, a man who knew what he believed and wasn’t afraid to say it. There was pride in this country while he was our President. Very good question, where have all the cowboys gone? To political correctness-float a trial balloon- put a finger in the wind before making a decision or declaration-land. That’s my guess anyway.
Have a great day-I’m getting outside-NOW!
