Blue Star Flags

I have wanted a Blue Star Flag for quite some time now, but decided against ordering one last year until we settled into what ever post we were going to move to. Well, here we are at good old “Ft. Civilianville” so I placed my order. I wanted to let you all know of the awesome deal I got through Amazon though.

Normally the 3ft X 5ft banners cost between $20-$30, but I got this one on sale for $2.89, which is greatly reduced from the normal $19.99! I figured if there were any Blue Star families out there who wanted a flag now is the time to order! The link below takes you to the flag I ordered, which currently has one blue star. If you search the store I bought it from you will find banners with added stars if you have more than one son/daughter serving. I do not know if the price increases much for each added star.

Here are the specs on the banner:

Product Features

PS: They have the black and gold new style Army flags for $4.78 as well as flags for each of the Branches. Check out the new Army flags that have a more traditional look (I LOVE these!) I have a feeling my neighbors are going to hear a lot of flags flapping in the summer breeze this year, and now my old Stars and Stripes won’t be flapping all alone, although she will always flap in the highest position.

  1. Can you tell me if it’s proper protocol to fly the blue star flag if your loved one is no longer deployed? I felt that I had to take mine down when soldier Adam returned to his Reserve unit, but if it’s acceptable I’d love to fly it again.

For Mr. Hooah: USS COLE, USS MOUNT WHITNEY, and USS ROSS have quietly taken up station off the coast of Lebanon. See the catskill site for further details.

All the best for a speedy recovery,

    Al

  2. Al, on the “Blue Star Mothers of America” website it states that the blue or gold star banners are for families to display when they have a loved one who is serving in the Armed Forces during a time of war or hostility toward America. Deployment status does not affect the protocol for displaying it. So, fly it high and fly it proud Al!! I will pass the message on to Mr. H! to come take a look at Catskill!
