And then there was one…
Another Haditha Marine has charges dropped against him. The NY Times was sure there when the mud slinging was happening. Too bad they aren’t around to help clean up the mess of the defamation that was done to these Marines. There is one left to go.
From Michelle Malkin:
Fight the smears. Call John “Cold-blooded” Murtha for comment: 202-225-2065.
Note: As of 1:40pm Eastern, you will not find the Haditha story on the front page of the NYTimes website.

Told you to watch out for this yesterday. Here it is. Paging John Murtha, paging John Murtha. Paging the NYT, paging the NYT:
A military judge has dismissed charges against a Marine officer accused of failing to investigate the killings of 24 Iraqis.
Col. Steven Folsom dismissed charges Tuesday against Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani after defense attorneys raised concerns that a four-star general overseeing the prosecution was improperly influenced by an investigator probing the November 2005 shootings by a Marine squad in Haditha.
The charges were dismissed without prejudice…
And then there was one:

I saw this on the other blog-o-sphere channels around lunch, today. I wish we had a lawyer around here to comment because I don’t know exactly what “dismissed without prejudice” means in legalese.
But I do know the military well enough to know that this has and will continue to effect (and affect if you please) the individual careers of these men for as long as they remain in service. I don’t even want to venture the effect on their civilian career later in life.
I was just reading this on the news and poor LT Dan was having to get an earful of rant about how I don’t see anyone all shouting to the mountain-tops NOW.
…mutter
I found this definition on the web:
“DISMISSAL WITHOUT PREJUDICE - When a case is dismissed but the plaintiff is allowed to bring a new suit on the same claim.”
I am not a lawyer and I have never played one on TV, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one time.
