Obama/McCain agree - strategic withdrawl from East St.Louis a must, Iraq not-so-much

Catchy headline, no?
This story ran a couple days ago in the Army Homepage:

Violence in Iraq Drops to Four-Year Low
Jun 24, 2008
BY Fred W. Baker III
WASHINGTON (AFPS, June 23, 2008) - Violence in Iraq dropped in May to its lowest level in four years, according to a Defense Department report released to Congress Monday.

The quarterly report, feared required by Congress, measured progress in the country in March through May of this year. The report highlighted that all major violent indicators dropped during the reporting period by as much as 80 percent.

My own home town news station ran this under their “Eye on Iraq” segment:

American deaths in Iraq at a high for the week!”  OMG!!! Pull Out NOW!!

Ok, I added that last part.

But I didn’t make up the weekly high part. I don’t have to. Truth is stranger than fiction. Look up the crime stats on East St.Louis and you’ll be shocked, shocked I tell you. We should immediately withdraw our brave firemen, policemen, and health care types … its just too dangerous.

OLD DRUM:OLD BEAT

Mr.Hooah!, out.

  1. Mr Hooah: You DO know that the news media ( the “old” ones, not us…..;) ) will probably go out of business for lack of “if it bleeds, it leads” headers. GASP!

  2. Our media is so FUBAR that I can barely tolerate listening to the drivel some times. I am tired of seeing “NEWSFLASH!!!” headlines about morons in Hollywood who have just done something stupid because the are on dope… and then hearing about every stupid bus accident that happens… and now we have to make sure we reduce the relevant context of American deaths in Iraq because we might accidentally say something encouraging to the American public! I think that the MSM is owned by the makers of Prozac! I feel a new conspiracy theory coming on (or it’s that chili effect again) :ch

  3. Before I ‘discovered’ blogs, I used to watch the news channels all the time. Now, knowing the real truth of the matter, watching them just makes me mad as a wet hen. And yelling at the television certainly doesn’t help any. :(( So I don’t.
Especially since I can visit with you all, get my dose of the real truth and end up laughing at their attempt to bamboozle the public. I’ve has some real vocal conversations (read arguments) with people I work with on this very subject. Unfortunately, all they hear and read is from the MSM… Dolts! :rolleyes
But I continue to try to give them different options of news gathering. Yup, by sending them to the ‘real truth’, the blogs….:B)
Thanks for making me smile today!

  4. It’s what we get for not protesting an Aussie Billionaire(Rupert Murdoch) whose fame began with a TABLOID. We Americans should have ran him out on a rail.
