Closing, Closing…

… and hopefully today, if all goes as planned, we will officially say “Closed!” We are headed out in a few to close on our house. We are very excited and it is nice to settle into a realization that we will not be traipsing off all over the Country. I was geared up for that, but I am fine staying put and continuing on with life here in TN. Mr. H! has not given up on the Reserves. We simply need to get him APFT ready. Looks like I need to get my Drill Instructor hat on and kick some booty!

Mike is on his way home this week, and we will all be together on the 4th of July for a family picnic and a time for me to soak in the realization that my whole family is in the exact same spot at the exact same time. Now there’s a blessing beyond blessings!

In other news… I have been invited to blog at VAJoe’s. If you get a moment stop by and take a look around. There are a lot of great forums, resources and *ahem* bloggers there. I will be blogging on Mondays starting sometime in the near future. I am asking Mr. H! to fill in for me here on those days. I am thinking of calling his blog here on KDIH the “5 second fuse.” Maybe he can stir and entertain some more lively political discussion. I struggle with that aspect because I normally have food cooking and a child clinging. It’s hard to talk political stuff when you have a curly headed pirate with needs.

I am out of here! Gonna go live the American dream and sign away my life and get into so much debt that I can’t see the end in sight before my 110th birthday! Thank God the house is our only debt (that is until the plumbing, electrical and septic tank all fail at the same time… I think I’m obsessing…)

Have a great Monday… Mrs. H! out!

  1. ONGRATS on all fronts Mrs Hooah!

The GREATEST blessing of all: July 4th with everybody close enough to touch and HUG. Give that “boy” a hug from Bratviille….

  2. Congratulations on the house closing, Hooah family! The homecoming-at last! All the best to your family on this blessed reunion weekend. Claire, my heart rejoices for you! Give Mike a big Wisconsin hug for me.

  3. Congrats on the the closing!!! Great Ganoozt on the invitation to write as well. Blogging is different than writing I’ve come to learn. No editors, no word processor; just go. Boy I hate wen i make grammer and speeling erors. Your writing is excellent. Mr. Hooah! cracks me up and the “ammo dump” line he wrote sticks with me always! I’m at my own homestead now with the flu. Kinda wish there was a button for that (the closing and the flu) but you certainly read all those pages and pages of documents right? :) We could probably make ethanol from the post it notes from closing docs. Congrats. :lb

  4. Congratulations on your new asset and new debt! You’re gonna love doing all the decorating and landscaping! Check in with us in about 4 months after the newness wears off!

  5. Just remember what Thoreau said: “Sometimes it’s not you that has the house — it’s the house that has you”.

Good luck and best wishes in the new abode.

  6. Thanks you all! We just hung our American and our Blue Star flags! Now it’s home sweet home! :))

  7. My warmest congratulations!!!
