Adams' speech the one he gave in 1836 concerning abolition of slavery in Washington, D.C.? I think he was a Congressman at that time for his district in Braintree, Massachussetts. I've been looking up the Supreme Court's 1841 decision for Adams' closing statements re: the Amistad slaves, but it's late and I'm tired. I'll have to look it up in FindLaw tomorrow. According to the geneaology my aunt did for entrance into the Daughters of the American Revolution organization, I am a direct descendant of the 2 Presidents Adams, from JQA's son Charles Francis.
