This is Army normal … really
Mr.Hooah here again. I was reading through my favorite blogs this past holiday weekend when I came across this on “Kaboom“:
Sunday, 6 July 2008
Important Name ChangeI had hoped to break this news sooner, but it seems certain readers have spoiled the surprise in their comments. LT G is no longer a lieutenant. On July 1, he was promoted to the rank of captain. Yes, despite the drama with the blog and his turning down the XO position, LT G is now CPT G. I suppose his pseudonym is sort of useless now, huh?
Some of you may remember LT G’s great blog as well as its untimely demise. This new blog was started by his fiancee.
For those of you who are in military families … this is just life. Being out of the loop I forget that things like having your blog shut down may not be bad. Things like making your next rank may not be good. They are neither good nor bad. They are just events. That is military life sometimes. The good is not always directly correlated with the bad nor vice a versa. Its just life.
So next time your soldier calls home belly aching or bragging - just take it with a grain of salt because the next call may be on the other end of the spectrum and you have to realize that in order to be a support to your soldier you can’t get caught on the roller coaster. You should stay balanced so that you’ll have the emotional energy to support your soldier when the “real” fertilizer hits the oscillating mechanism (to borrow from Al).
Still, now that Lt.G is Cpt. G … maybe he can have his blog back? Please? Pretty please?
Mr.Hooah!, out.

Mr.Hooah!
But you know what? City Girl, herself, gave away the secret… How else could we have known about the promotion. Yeah, I was one of those readers who commented, congratulating Cap’n G….
Oh, btw, are you really, like serously telling us that “Army Life” is like a roller coaster?? Cause NO WAY WOULD I BELIEVE THAT!!!
Certainly parallels “non Army” life to some degree! Life is full of changes, and surprises. Monotonous as hecky dern without them, huh? and who want’s that?
Should we or rather , could we start a petition to allow Cap’n G to continue his blog? I’ll sign it right now!
Geez, I wish a petition would do it. I would start that myself if I thought it could do any good.
