US Marine Corps Major General John Kelley wrote the note below to the parents of Sgt Michael Ferschke (a team leaders in A Company, 3rd Recon Battalion), who will be buried in the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, tomorrow, in Knoxville, TN. This one note will tell you more about our Corps and it’s leaders than you’ll find anywhere. Read the NOTE here <clicky>

Note from Mr.Hooah!, There is a good reason we used to be called the “Volunteer State”. I am proud that young men like this still live here vs. the spoiled redneck brats I typically see in this state.

Please be in prayer for the family of this Tennessee Marine. He leaves behind a young wife and an unborn child. I will try and contact the newspaper today to see if there is any opportunity to give toward a trust for the child or to help his widow.

EXCERPT
Sgt. Michael Ferschke, Jr., 23, died on Sunday from a fatal gunshot wound he received while on a mission doing house to house searches. His family was told about his death Sunday night.
“Michael was an amazing young man. He was a loving, caring, family-oriented kid who turned into a loving, caring, family-oriented adult,” say family friends Irene and Douglas Cooper.
Ferschke had been in Iraq since April.
He’s been married for a month and leaves behind a wife in Japan who’s pregnant. Their child is expected to arrive in January. (snip) Source Link
