Slowly, slowly, slowly… steady now…

Holy smokes! When the Dr. said 6-weeks very light duty, and then 9-weeks light duty and then a full 6-months for recovery, I think he meant it! I get a little stronger each day, but I am still very exhausted at the end of a normal day.

I don’t care how good or sound of a decsion it is, medically speaking, having an organ removed from your body is no picnic. Oh, and if you ever have to do this and you are new to surgery — don’t let the tiny little incisions fool ya! Oh no, your guts will still be traumatized from being wrenched and you will feel where they cut you inside. Those little incisions send the wrong message. They may be little and quick to heal on the outside, but the inside heals no differently from when they used to lay you wide open before the laprascope was invented.

That is really all of the old curmudgeon, recovery complaining you will get from me. I have been downgraded from feeling like i was hit by a Mac Truck to feeling like I was bumped into by a Hostess delivery truch. It’s getting better. Thank you all for your patience and your notes…. and thank you SO much to all of the writers who are contributing — Especially to Super-Brat the Wonder-Blogger of the Universe!

    Follow the doc’s orders, and believe what he says. After all, he’s been through this (albeit on the other side of the coin) many more times than you have; he knows whereof he speaks.

    Hang in there, Babe, it WILL get better. Just and ONLY in its own sweet time.

    Mr.Hooah! can’t you make her behave?

    Hmmm, If you think cheesecake will pacify Brat, maybe I should come down there with her so we can really make sure that you follow those orders!

    Seriously Claire, I have found out that our bodies will heal in it’s own time, and if we push it, it will only hurt or fail us down the road. There speaks the voice of experience.. So, listen to your body, and your doctor!

    OH, and I agree with you on “Super Brat the Wonder-Blogger of the Universe!”

    I may be swamped at the moment, but I do take time to read KDH :-) Great to get your update, Claire, and I agree with Ky Woman – our bodies heal at pace, so take it easy. Here’s a big {{{{hug}}}

    Good Morning! Thoughts and prayers as a new week begins for continued progress in healing, as well as patience with the current limitations. Hope you don’t run out of ‘light duty’ activities to keep you occupied! (((Hugs)))
