Knee Deep in the Hooah!

Woke up early this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. I was too energized from my dream.

I dreamt a man was elected to LEAD this country through it’s current mire. Sen. McCain spoke to our nation as a MAVERICK and proud AMERICAN.  It wasn’t all pretty either. But that didn’t disturb my slumber. I do NOT wish to have a president lull me into a hypnotized state of feel good with calm tone and smooth rhetoric.

I want a president who’ll move this country into action.  In my dream, our new president proved his intentions to change the same old, same old on DAY ONE by announcing there will be NO big money galas celebrating his election. If big companies and wealthy supporters need a tax write-off, he strongly urged the gala funding money be distributed to the charity of THEIR choosing. No big parties this year, there’s serious WORK to be done.

Next, he announced meetings would begin with a variety of knowledgeable people  on how to best deal with our economic situation.  Real, non-poll driven solutions would be presented to Americans.  In my dream, our president introduced his outline to citizens in straight talk. No sugar coated, say nothing, ‘FAIR’ diatribe. Life isn’t fair.  And you know what?  We can take it.  This country was founded by, and has prospered with roll-up-your-sleeves, hard working citizens who can face any challenge.  Just elect us a LEADER who will inspire us to achieve, not offer us a government that will TAKE CARE of all our needs.  Give us a challenge and clear direction, PLEASE!

I dreamt this man reminded us all of the basics. The Constitution,  the PURPOSE  and FUNCTION of our government, that the senate and congress work for the PEOPLE of this nation. For the PEOPLE, by the PEOPLE.  Have we forgotten?

Sitting here with my cup of coffee and laptop, I can’t help but wonder what awaits America the morning of Nov 5th.
