My own response, share yours…

Ok, so here we are the day after the election results and I am giving my own response to the situation. If you haven’t already been to Michelle Malkin’s, get over there. She has a great response too.

The fact is Obama won, and I will not sit here and play the pitiful, divisive, sophomoric, asinine head games that the constituency who put him in the White House has played for 8-years now. I will always speak honestly about Obama’s policies, what I do and don’t agree with and what I like and dislike about the way he handles things. I will not, however be disrespectful to the Office by calling him childish names (you know like the favorite one for Bush “shrub” used by the enlightened ones). I will not slap a “He’s not my President” sticker on my car. I guess you could say that many of us on the other side are actually practicing the unity that the other side only preaches.

I love my Country, and that means the good, the bad and the ugly of it. I will fly my flag just as high today as I did yesterday. The fate of this great Nation is not wrapped up in one individual, and really it’s not wrapped up in our Federal Government. WE the people made this Country what it is, through the blessings of God.

I am glad that McCain handled himself with dignity. I disagree with the timing. I think he owed it to those who gave so much of their time, money and energy to wait until at least more of the precincts were reporting. I am not saying fight the election results… I am saying at least let the last voter get his/her finger off the voting screen before you call the election.

McCain did the right thing. He did not go “Al Gore” on us and fight the election tooth and nail, whine, cry and pout about the results for months, only to go into hiding to emerge months later looking like an overweight version of the Unabomber and becoming the butt end of South Park jokes.

Thank you Mr. McCain for that!

With that said, I am here. I will remain here. This morning when I woke up the sun rose and it’s keeping me warm today. God has provided me with all I have, not the Government. I never expected McCain or any other conservative politician to give me anything other than the assurance they would uphold the Constitution and protect our Country’s borders. Even when they fail at that, God’s providence is sure. That is where my faith is. My faith is not shattered or humiliated today.

I wish I could have more confidence in the man that was chosen, but I don’t. I pray he proves me wrong. I don’t mind being wrong about things like that. I am willing to give him the chance to do that.

Regardless, I will continue to come here and write. I will continue to have faith in God, and I will continue to speak about what’s on my mind. We have a lot at stake over the next few years.

AMEN! I also believe that who we each ARE, and what we each believe is NOT dependant on the person in the Oval Office. I am thinking I also will be writing, watching (not necessarily in that order,) but above all keeping faith in America, and with the Americans I know and love. And praying. Always…

Some things will NEVER change, no matter who is President.
