The promotable has been officially promoted! I got a call this morning from Toy Soldier. I couldn’t answer the phone so I called him right back as soon as I could… to which he answered the phone “Sergeant ***** speaking.” I paused a moment because I thought he was at work and I knew he had already been granted his leave. Then it suddenly dawned on me — OH! OH! Woah! I can be a little less than slow when it comes to the obvious, sometimes. Ah, but they love me anyway.
Congratulations Toy Soldier and Mrs. Toy Soldier! Those stripes were fully earned — I know that.

Ah, now he can almost afford a wife – and if she is working he might be making as much as she does. I once wondered why I had to work, train, go to the field and pull duty all night to make as much as my wife did in five days, eight hours a day – then remembered that I was in the military service and she was employed by the same. They had to treat her better. Having read his work from Iraq, I think they should have promoted him sooner – he was smart enough to get married when he returned.

Earl, I agree with you 100%! You know not only did he get married — but he found himself a real gem of a lady. She’s great and just what he needs — and vice versa too. They make a very sweet family.

Excellent!!! My young man just place second in the soldier of the month board and was a little disappointed but I told him I was so proud he was in the running!!! Merry Christmas!!! Bulldog Out!!!
