Did you hear the one about the zebra?

chevaux-24

Caretakers on the home front sometimes suffer from “anticipatory grief.” It’s described as the feelings and emotions that we experience when we worry about something bad happening to our soldier. When you suffer from anticipatory grief you can become hyper-vigilant and sometimes have intrusive thoughts that are very hard to shut off.

When the phone rings or a knock is heard at the door, your heart may begin to race and you may go into adrenaline overload because you are caught off guard and fear the worst.

What do you do when those times of intrusive thoughts of hyper-vigilance take over?

Come and discuss why we shouldn’t think so much about zebras!
