Fairness Doctrine; Preemptive strike
I was browsing early this morning and saw this headline at Michelle Malkin’s site. I am very interested to hear what the participants of this press conference have to say about the future of the freedom of speech.
I have to wonder how military blogs would be affected by something like the Fairness Doctrine.
How much more antithetic to the principles put forth in our Constitution can we get? The Bill being announced today will hopefully mean that it will take an act of Congress to implement the doctrine instead of the FCC having the right to enact it. Fortunately this puts an added barrier of protection by taking this threat to free speech and putting it into a formalized process for scrutiny and accountability. Unfortunately I have no confidence in our Congress at this point.

I think you nailed it when you said in part”I have no confidence in Congress at this point”. I have been thinking this all day!! I am trying so hard to be optimistic however it is more and more difficult. Bulldog Out!!!
