President Bush’s Farewell Address
President George W. Bush kisses Arlene Howard on the forehead following his farewell address to the nation Thursday evening, Jan. 15, 2009 in the East Room of the White House. The President met Ms. Howard shortly after Sept. 11, 2001, where she gave him her son’s police badge after he perished in the terrorists attacks on the World Trade Center. President Bush still carries the badge with him today as a reminder of all that was lost. White House photo by Eric Draper [my emphasis]
Excuse me racing in and out, but wanted to be sure you all know that I have the text of President Bush’ s “Farewell to the Nation” posted – verbatim and from The White House site – up on my site.
Say what you will about this President (and goodness knows the msm continues their downward slope of ignorance, ) in this speech the President displays great class..I believe that this speech should be read and re-read – carefully – and that is why I have posted it. For the record.
Go over here to read it all.
Back to your regular Hooah! programming.:)

TY for posting this here. I thought our President’s Farewell Speech was a classy one too. One of the parts that stood out to me the most was when he said that the majority of Americans went on with fairly normal lives after 9-11, but he never could because of the security briefings he received everyday.
It is a fact that we were kept safe for the last 7 years because of his actions and our military’s. I will miss him. Did he make mistakes? Yes and so will the President Elect; after all he is a mere human–like everyone else.
The liberal media is so one-sided, so biased, so set on their agenda that they cannot do a fair job reporting anymore–this was clear during the not so long ago Conventions and Election. They (with the exception of one network) and others are out to debase Pres Bush anyway they can–and the sad thing is how many people believe their ‘journalism’ is the ‘gospel truth”. I have basically stopped watching almost all programming on the major networks because of (what I see is) their lack of honest, unbiased, respectful reporting. It is unethical IMO.
It is so sad. I did not agree with the Pres in all his choices and I have been very upset at a few of them BUT I did not walk in his shoes and neither did all the rest of our nation’s citizen’s, including the ones who so easily condemn him-disrespect him and treat him as if he is a criminal. This is the worst I have ever seen and I cannot tolerate it.
As far as the new administration — I will never ever agree with some of their agendas. I cannot as a Christian, but I will strive to respect the Pres Elect and will certainly (and am) praying for him. I sincerely hope he does well–a lot I love is at stake.
Sorry Claire & Brat that this is so long–please feel free to edit it you need to.
Blessings, Aimee
