Yes it really does make a difference. He has actually been there since early  last October. (before that he was living in Germany, which I think helped with getting used to the time change etc in Iraq).

  It still took a while for him to get used to it over there but seems to be getting the hang of it all.  He has leave within the next couple of months though which i think he is a little nervous about.  I think some times its easier just to stay there and get the job done as opposed to splitting it in half and getting reminded of all the things at home you miss.

How long has your son been gone?
