So you are saying, Kat, that in a socialist system those who do the redistribution of the wealth do not set up a system that keeps them in power, keeps them a little fatter off the cream? I don't buy it. I also do not buy that any form of government will ever work as nicely in practice as it does in theory. In theory there is no difference between the two -- in practice, however, the difference is huge. Outside of communism and total control I think we almost always see variations. The welfare system in our Country is most definitely a form of taking taxes from the working class and redistributing them to those on a lower social strata. How is that not socialism? Public housing, food stamps, government clinics AND public insurance (which we already have).

I do know what Candidates stand for. I do the research. Once again, why is the assumption made that if I don't agree with your view point then I must not be informed or I must be some media puppet?

There is more to socialism than just redistributing wealth.

"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases." Jefferson

Sometimes we don't know what we have until it's gone. It's one thing when that is a few conveniences, it's another when it's our freedom and liberty.
