I am around and about. I have not jumped ship and I have not abandoned my post. This past Saturday I had my annual tamale day. I prepared the masa, meat filling and husks for about 120+ tamales. Then I assembled and steamed them all. The whole process took about 10 hours. If there is any testimony to the tamale it’s that anyone would go through that painstaking ritual to make a huge batch like that.
Still though, as a native Arizonan, I am spoiled when it come to real Mexican food. Tex-mex is good, but it’s not authentic like my tamales.
So, between coding like crazy and making tamales like a fool I have been taking care of house and home. We are holding our breath right now waiting for the financial crunch shoe to drop here. Who knows what our lives will look like in a year. Regardless I refuse to worry too much about it.

I’ve tasted your tamales, Claire. The amount of effort that you put into preparing them is only equalled by the fervor in which we enjoy consuming them!
