Isn’t it funny?
I find it particularly amusing today to hear elected officials and others dismissing the fact that over hundreds of thousands, tax paying, voting, citizens gathered simultaneously across America to deliver a message in a unified voice. We still have to wonder what this would have looked like on a Saturday since so many tax paying citizens couldn’t take the day off from work to attend!
The general backlash is that it was no big deal. It’s stupid, irrelevant, etc. blah, blah. I find it funny that they are all working so hard to convince everyone that nothing happened. The media did exactly as expected and minimized it, and even sent a rogue reporter to chastise and argue with law abiding citizens who were exercising their Constitutionally protected right to assemble. The same reporter had no problem covering anti-government protests when Bush was in office, so why the outrage now?
If something is no big deal, then why are so many people working overtime and even pouring money into making sure that every one hears that the tea parties were no big deal? I think that Sean Penn is no big deal — and the only reason I mention his name here is to prove my point. He’s a washed up moon-bat and inconsequential, so why would I waste more than a second or two mentioning him? If I feel the need to constantly harp on a point my psyche gives me away. The truth of the matter is, we only harp on things that we are either in full support of, excited about OR threatened by.
