From the peanut gallery – part XXIIV
The other day we caught a zebra butterfly. It was very beautiful and Emma has a small netted insect house to keep and observe such creatures.
We let her keep it in that for a few hours, but she knew she had to release it so it wouldn’t die.
After a few hours of observation, do you know what my scientist wanted to know? She said “Mama, every living thing has to poop and pee. That means butterflies have to poop and pee, right? How do they poop and pee?”
Hm, butterfly poop? Of course Damon piped in and told her that they poop Skittles. No wonder she’s warped at such a tender age.

In other girly news: Emma was mad at me the other day because I had to the mommy thing and enfore some boundaries with her. indignant with me, she stomped her foot, put her hand on her hip and said “You do realize I love God more than you!?”

And finally….
Emma did turn 5 officially on this past Monday. Everyday this week, so far, she says “I still feel like I’m 4. Am I really 5?”
I told her to wait until she hit her 40s. Then she would be saying “Am I only 42? I feel 60!”

I’ve noticed that Damon has an odd fascination with Skittles. s/f Hank
and thanks for this bit of sunshine, I can always count on a smile.

I do have an odd fascination with Skittles don’t I? I don’t know why since I hate eating them (too sugary, yuck). Maybe it’s cause of the trade value they had in BCT whenever I got them in my MRE?

Emma’s commentary always brings a smile! Observations of life through the eyes of a child-priceless!
