Two plane tickets, two blue stars, and a partridge in a …
Wait a minute, it’s the wrong time of year for the ending, but this is the rhyme I am saying today. Just a quick update on our family and this blog.
My youngest son is now in the Reserves. He will go to BCT in September, and then be back in time to start classes in January. He seems happy with the set-up and since he’s the one who is facing the responsibility of those decisions, I am glad he is comfortable with it. Me? I’m too tired these days to think that far ahead. When Toy Soldier found out he said “What is it with this family? Every time I deploy one of you heads off to BCT!” He was speaking of course about his last deployment and Mr. Hooah!’s grand adventure at Uncle Benning’s Camp for Wayward Husbands.
The other grand news for this Thursday is that Mr and Mrs Toy Soldier actually get to come home for one week before deployment.
I am searching for cheap tickets. I hope they don’t mind flying on a pteradactical.
Love to you all. Sorry the blog has been so slow. Summer calleth, and the Curly Headed Pirate is taking gymnastics, swimming lessons and she has PE classes at the Y. I have been trying to get back into a normal routine of working out and strength training. I lost some ground (not too much) after the fracture in my foot and the surgery last year. I am gaining ground but this time it’s slow going. Some of that is due to my fear and paranoia about running too much on that foot. The cross-trainer is great, but it’s still not quite the same workout. I am almost up to a full hour a day again though, and that’s good.
Hope you are all having a good summer. I am ready for the Fall already.
