		<description>Jim,

Very personal and cogent comments.

I absolutely believe someone with authority in Hassan’s chain of command dramatically dropped the ball in keeping an eye on Hassan and his troubles. I heard first person accounts from seniors, to include at least one Colonel who knew this man and did not act aggressively enough based on the information he himself reported.

It is my belief and experience that this apathy and incompetence was bred in part from a culture of political correctness and a fear of repercussions.

Hasan was an extremely privileged man who swore more than one oath when he was enlisted and when he became an officer to protect and defend our Constitution. And those than knew of his anti American views and did nothing should be ashamed.

I have no reservations about calling him a Muslim terrorist.

Muslims who believe in jihad are terrorists.

Muslims who cheered in the streets at the death of innocent Americans during the events of 9-11 are our enemies. If there are Muslims in our community who remain silent, if they know that they harbor terrorist among them but choose to remain silent, then they too are part of the problem.
