A few days ago news broke about a DHS document, signed off by Napolitano, alerting law enforcement to the threat of the rise of "right wing extremists." The document is really bizarre and does not offer very good definitions, but what really got a rise out of me was the naming of our honorable Veterans. Now, Napolitano is trying to explain exactly why Veterans were mentioned in the document. It's an argument so full of holes it's not even funny.

A few days ago news broke about a DHS document, signed off by Napolitano, alerting law enforcement to the threat of the rise of “right wing extremists.” The document is really bizarre and does not offer very good definitions, but what really got a rise out of me was the naming of our honorable Veterans. Now, Napolitano is trying to explain exactly why Veterans were mentioned in the document. It’s an argument so full of holes it’s not even funny.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78wulwAB5b0

Napolitano claims that the only reason she agreed to sign off on the document that mentions Veterans is because the argument that Timothy McVeigh was former Army and that is where he got his training to carry out the Oklahoma City bombing. She said that made sense to her.

According to her reasoning Veterans were named in the report because of McVeigh alone. This means that they are basing McVeigh’s sociopathy on his military training. The military did not train McVeigh on how to blow up the Federal building. I can say with confidence they were not teaching soldiers how to make illegal and makeshift bombs, nor do they teach them how to target innocent people — regardless of what the anti-military crowd may say. McVeigh most certainly did NOT use his military training to blow up the building. Terry Nichols taught McVeigh how to make that bomb.

Actually McVeigh was only in the military for 4-years. He did see combat, but so have MILLIONS and MILLIONS of Veterans over generations and they do not come back and blow up buildings. So, why is his brief military service being singled out as a characteristic that may mean other Veterans are a potential threat for doing the same?

Let’s talk about other characteristics of this deranged lunatic.

He comes from a divorced family with two sisters… so maybe we should put all white men from divorced families with two sisters on that list …

He was picked on a lot in school and he resorted to playing video games, maybe we should put those characteristics on the list…

He was a security guard after leaving the Army, so maybe we should list all security guards as being a potential threat to National Security..

He was raised Catholic, but left his roots behind in adulthood. He later claimed to be an agnostic. So, should we put those claiming agnosticism on the list..

Isn’t it absurd to draw a correlation between these other characteristics and someone who poses a threat to our safety? McVeigh was a sociopath — plain and simple. He was able to function in the military for a brief period of time, but he could not withstand the structure.

This is a personality issue, and a severe disorder of a value system. Personality disorders are very complex and are very hard to trace to their origins because there are so many factors involved. Ted Bundy was a well dressed and well spoken man — should we assume then that well dressed and well spoken men are sociopaths? That’s absurd!

It is absolutely, positively absurd to draw a correlation between our Veterans and any threat of extremist behavior based on the behavior of ONE UNHINGED lunatic who left the military because he simply could not take the structure and the uncompromising demand for the respect of authority.

It was a cheap shot taken at the expense of those who have sacrificed more than any for this Country. It’s disgusting and it’s outright bigotry. She would do better to just say she’s sorry and she will be sure to never allow disrespect to be shown to our bravest and finest again. Don’t hold your breath…
