And, when it comes down to it I guess we can say “Welcome back Clinton!” too. No one cuts the military like a Democrat. There’s nothing like the smell of burning benefits in mid-day to get my blood pressure adequately raised.

The Congressional Budget Office recently released a report giving justification for reducing the level of insurance that current military veterans get, and increasing their out of pocket expenses. The report contends that funding for the program Tricare For Life (TFL) will increase from $8.5 billion in 2009 to $20.6 billion by 2026. We are all a little savvy to entertain that the increase is simply because Veterans run to the doctor every time they sneeze, or that the cost of health care is going to increase that much in coming years (although the justification seems to point to careless Veterans as being the main source of the budget angst).

The cost is projected to increase (undoubtedly) because the number of eligible veterans will increase. The number of eligible veterans will increase because we are at war. When we are at war we ask our men and women to volunteer to serve. Those who accept the challenge get very little compensation when compared to the hours and sacrifice that they put into their jobs. Those honorable citizen soldiers age over time and assume the role of retired veteran — we will have a lot more of these folks in our future, and we had better be ready to rise to the challenge of taking care of our defenders.

The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten. — Calvin Coolidge

We have Federal money to bail out failing businesses left and right (even degenerate scum bags like Flynt have their hand out for some of our money). We have enough Federal money for Congress to grant itself a very undeserved raise. We do not, however, think we will have enough money to give the very best health care insurance to retired veterans in the future?

While the government is busy bailing out failing car companies, our men and women who serve are bailing our Country out of a very real and present threat to the future of our freedom and way of life. They risk life an limb and sometimes lose one or both in the fight. They watch their comrades go through the same.

They do this for our Country and this is the crap they get in return? It’s inexcusable. It’s immoral. It’s time Congress and the new administration hear that those of us who do support our Warriors will not sit quietly by and watch them decimate the military as has been common practice in Democrat dominated days of old. We can not stand for any demoralizing or decimating of our military — either of the active and reserve ranks who are currently fighting nor of the retired ranks.

Write to your Congressman today. Tell them that you have read what was in the Congressional budget report regarding TFL and that you do not support any cuts being made to that program. Remind him/her that you may not have any say over their raises, but most certainly will have enough to say when time for reelection comes up.

This is only a report, but the projections are a very good indicator as to how it will be used. Call and write and demand that our Veteran’s benefits be protected.

Read the report here (with directions on how to find it quickly):

1. Double click on the above URL

2. Click on PDF

3. Click on the binoculars

4. Do a search for TFL

Our Veterans today need to know that they will be cared for tomorrow. This is not an option.
